With beautiful, symbolic and mythical imagery, this duo employed layered polyrhythms, samples, some drones and an array of drum sounds played live to create a riveting set of songs that felt both tribal and futuristic. I rarely see anything in the realm of this outside of having seen Cabaret Voltaire a couple of months ago. Richly detailed and visceral. You could tell that Val Jeanty and Ravish Momin were putting in work during this performance and the joy and enthusiasm with which they played was infectious and inspirational. Many thanks to Creative Music Works for helping to make this happen and to everyone that braved the cold to catch such a unique and powerful show.
